ASI is happy to announce that we will be partnering with a local consignment shop, The Pearl, for an August promotion. Kellie, the owner of The Pearl, wrote a post about her business, giving back to the community, and the promotion. We wanted to share it with you. Read what Kellie had to say below.

I absolutely love owning a consignment shop! Being the owner/operator of New Castle's newest consignment shop, The Pearl, has been quite rewarding! The Pearl is a fashion consignment shop at its best for women & teen gals on a budget. It is truly a win / win business. I offer items at low prices keeping money in our community, and I offer the opportunity for citizens of our community to make a little extra cash. Everyone is struggling right now, and any little way to save or make money is a blessing.

The store has the very mod, chic, feminine atmosphere of an upscale boutique without the upscale prices! I offer quality name brand clothes, (00-Plus sizes) shoes, purses, jewelry & accessories with prices that help cushion everything else that is so expensive in today's struggling economy. I also offer unique home decor, and some artwork. I have an eclectic mix of merchandise that is sure to interest most everyone.

However, The Pearl is not just an ordinary consignment shop. I operate on a give back to the community concept...which is a passion for me. I love helping others, because so many people have helped me and giving is what makes the world go around.  I truly believe in paying it forward, passing it on, the golden rule...and giving much/gaining much.

 For example,  each month, I offer a $25.00 Pass it On Shopping Spree to a woman who may need a boost! With so many women being heads of household &/or struggling to make ends meet, they leave very little time for themselves. Sometimes, a new outfit to start high school, or a nice pair of shoes for that new job, can go a long way in raising the hopes (and shoulders) of a woman.

In The Pearl's opening month of June, I gave two Pass it On Shopping Sprees to a couple of teen gals who had suffered much loss in a house fire. In July, I donated the Pass it On Shopping Spree to God's Grain Bin. Steve Slocomb, the owner, plans to pass it on to a woman who needs a boost!

The Pearl also offers Pay it Forward give-aways each month. With ANY purchase, the customer enters their name into a drawing to win something nice. They can enter as many times as they like, throughout the month. I partner with other local businesses to give away these items. This helps my business, and it helps theirs, plus it helps the customer...which in the long run, builds & strengthens New Castle. Once again, carrying forth the Pay it Forward/Pass it on Concept of The Pearl.

In June, two lucky ladies won Premiere Design Jewelry pieces, offered by Carol Davis. For July, The Pearl is currently offering a chance to win a complete Mary Kay Satin Hands set w/ a Mary Kay makeover & $10.00 in free Mary Kay product. All of this is offered by Michelle Stewart. These women are both local business owners.

I am excited to be working with ASI in August for The Pearl's Pay it Forward give-away! Make ANY purchase at The Pearl in August and enter into a chance to win a FREE basic security system package! Women love to shop, save money & feel safe and secure at home. Customers can enter as many times as they like, and if they are unable to use the system, they can always pass it on to someone who can...continuing with the concept of The Pearl.

I chose ASI for The Pearl's August Pay it Forward Give-Away because they have been a local business in this community for over 25 years. I use their services; I trust the company and I believe they offer our community priceless products and services...peace of mind and a sense of security. Ron and Laura Anderson are pillars of the community and really care about the people of New Castle. ASI just fit with what I am trying to do at The Pearl!

The Pearl donates most unsold items to The Closet/Hamburger Heaven...a local outreach program that offers free clothing & meals for struggling citizens of New Castle. The Pearl also donates items to local church benefits & to people in our community who have suffered loss under tragic circumstances...such as house fires, accidents, etc.
